Young Girl With Autism Co-Authors Book

Fiona Hale is a 12-year-old girl on the spectrum from San Antonio who is a very talented artist — and now, her artwork is going to be featured in a book. “She’s the kid at school who draws,” her mother Colleen says. “She’s not the kid with autism.”

Fiona practices her artwork an astonishing four hours a day. Her drawings also serve as a way to help her communicate. The book, called “You Are Going To Love Me”, was created with the purpose of helping Fiona’s teachers and classmates understand autism. Fiona’s teacher, Victoria Sills, wrote the book, while Fiona provided the artwork, and her mother supplied the photographs.
