Saying Goodnight Successfully

Getting a child to sleep is always a challenge. This is especially true when they’re on the autism spectrum. And sleep is so important, both for you and your child, so this can be a difficult aspect of parenting.

However, Autism Lives gives us some helpful tips that takes advantage of the knowledge we already have about living with a child on the spectrum and putting them into play when it’s bedtime.

Watch and learn about what can make you and your child rest easier. One example involves implementing a routine—making sure they know it’s almost time for bed by establishing rituals. That will help make for a smooth trip to tucking your kid into bed!

Do you have any other tips for getting your child to go to bed and stay in bed? Anything the video didn’t mention? Share it in the comments—it may be an effective and helpful tactic for another autism family, too!
