Move Over, Michael Jackson; This Eight-Year-Old with Autism Slays the “Thriller” Dance!A. Stout
An eight-year-old’s internet fame started with a webcam dance competition.
Aspects Holidays, a cottage leasing agency in St. Ives, put a webcam outside their office and challenged passersby to show off their moves for a chance to win a prize. It struck the fancy of William Ryan, a boy with autism, who then begged his mom to let him perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance.
So he did just that. And he “wowed” the world.
Needless to say, the kiddo won the grand prize. But he gained something even greater than a toy store voucher and a collection of goodies that day.
“Can I just take the opportunity on behalf of my husband and myself to thank you all for all the wonderful and kind comments,” his mother posted to Facebook. She went on to explain that her son struggles in social situations but loves to dance—he especially loves Michael Jackson and can do all his dance routines by heart. “As I’ve been reading your comments to him it has blown his mind that so many people like him! Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts.”
