Up until the age of about three or so, Owen Suskind was developing like a typical child when suddenly he regressed, losing his ability to speak and connect with other people.

That was when he was diagnosed with autism.

Twenty years later, Owen moved away from his parents and into an assisted-living apartment. He had a girlfriend, a job at a movie theater, and yes, the ability to speak. Owen is now twenty-five and he’s still thriving.

What happened? Believe it or not, the magic of Disney movies.

His incredible life and story has been captured in the documentary, Life, Animated, based on the bestselling memoir by his father, Ron Suskind. Though the documentary was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in early 2016, it finally came out in July of the same year.

Check out the incredible trailer. It gave me some major chills!
